About Above the Waves Counselling

Why Above the Waves?
The name Above the Waves Counselling was inspired by the song Oceans by Hillsong United and its message of keeping our focus above the waves in the midst of difficult times.
There are seasons in life when it can feel as though your present situation will never change, or as though the pain, uncertainty or difficulty you are experiencing will not end. When life feels overwhelming, it can be hard to see beyond what is happening right now. I wanted the name Above the Waves to carry a message of hope in those moments.
Storms in life will come and go, and it is completely understandable to feel anxious, afraid, worried, powerless or sad when we are facing difficult circumstances. Sometimes counselling can help us see things from a different perspective, recognise strengths we may have lost sight of, understand what we are going through more clearly, and consider what might help from here.
Above all, the name is a reminder not to give up, to reach out for help when you need it, to hold onto hope when life feels uncertain, and to remember that what you are experiencing today is not necessarily where you will always be.
